100% methylpolysiloxane
A widely used general
purpose column providing high efficiency for hydrocarbons, and
non-polar or weakly polar solutes.
5 and 50% phenylmethylpolysiloxane The replacement of methyl groups in the polymethylsiloxane with
phenyl groups confers some polarizability in these phases which
gives increased capacity for polar solutes.
30% biphenylmethylpolysiloxane The enhanced polarizability of this column makes it the first
choice for most analytes. The biphenyl phase provides high efficiency,
inertness, polarization potential and high sample capacity for
most solute classes.
25 and 50% cyanopropylmethylpolysiloxane The cyanopropyl phases provide the highest polar functionality
available for SFC and are therefore particularly useful for separating
weakly polar and polarizable compounds.
50% octylmethylpolysiloxane This phase containing strong alkyl character provides higher
capacity for non-polar compounds than the methyl phase as well
as showing some significant inertness and resistance to breakdown
by agressive samples.
SFC Capillary Column Configuration
SFC capillary columns are 50-µm internal diameter by 195-µm
outer diameter. Stationary phases are 0.25-µm thick. Columns
are equivalent to columns formerly offered by Dionex,and are
delivered with a frit restrictor coupled to the column. The columns
are offered in 10-m lengths.
Column Performance Every Selerity SFC column is individually tested under SFC conditions.
The resulting chromatogram with analytical conditions is included
with each column to provide a baseline and guarantee of performance.

Silica Packing
These columns are effective wherever a silica
phase is required; however, they were designed to specifically
meet the requirements
of ASTM Method D5186 for the determination of aromatics in diesel
and jet fuels and ASTM Method 6550 for the determination of olefins
in gasoline. These 1 mm ID columns provide resolution factors
significantly higher than specified by Method D5186. Performance
is especially enhanced when used with Selerity's zero dead-volume
Secure-FitTM connectors. Each column is individually conditioned
and tested under the SFC conditions recommended in Method D5186
and are ready to install in your SFC upon
receipt.

SFC Restrictors
All Selerity SFC capillary columns are equipped with frit restrictors
which are made by casting a porous ceramic section in 50-µm
fused silica tubing and are deactivated with siloxane reagents.
Individual testing assures performance within the specified flow
rate range. We recommend that restrictors be attached to columns
using one of the Selerity Column Coupling Kits described below.
Restrictors in custom lengths and flow rates are available on

Capillary Column Couplers Coupler Kit CCFT.01 employs a coupling tube enclosed in a stainless
steel housing. Column ends are inserted into the quartz coupling
tube. The columns are held in place by tightening the end fittings.
These connectors are reusable.

Packed Column Connector Kit
Column Couplers
This auto-depth spring-loaded
connector assures an absolutely tight fit between the 1/32" column and injector valve fittings.
Its finger-tight connections make this zero dead-volume connector
easy to use with Selerity packed columns. This connector is suitable
for any high-pressure connection of 1/32” fittings; it
is recommended when using the Selerity C5186.01 column.
