Selerity
Technologies Establishes European Distribution Network For Polaratherm
High
Temperature Liquid Chromatography (HTLC) specialist, Selerity Technologies
Inc, announces that it has completed a marketing and distribution
agreement with the Research Institute of Chromatography (R.I.C.)
- Kortrijk, Belgium - for its Polaratherm(tm) total temperature
controller and associated chromatographic instrumentation, including
its Blaze(tm) columns. Selerity chose R.I.C as its European partner
because of its reputation and recognised expertise in the advancement
of chromatography applications, techniques and method development.
Under
the terms of the co-operation, R.I.C. will be responsible for promoting
Selerity's Polaratherm(tm) in continental Europe. This specialist
organisation founded by Prof. Pat Sandra has unparalleled experience
in furthering chromatographic know-how and analytical techniques.
R.I.C has become a leading centre for training excellence and application
development in modern separation science, working in collaboration
with customers to research, evaluate and validate new methods.
With
the Polaratherm(tm), Selerity has developed bespoke instrumentation
that takes full advantage of using HTLC methods in the modern laboratory.
The Polaratherm(tm) is the first column oven to address the chromatographic
parameters of temperature through control of the mobile phase, column,
and effluent to the detector. This equipment is applicable to most
vendor High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) systems, and
can therefore be deployed in any laboratory already operating HPLC,
at little additional cost.
Selerity
has pioneered functionality allowing the regulation of the flow
of hot and cold air so that the temperature is maintained within
desired preset limits during the mobile phase. A new low-volume,
low-mass solvent preheater has been designed to keep the amount
of tubing required for preheating the mobile phase low without invading
the fluid path. This highly responsive preheater design makes temperature
programming possible with the most commonly used chromatographic
columns (4.6mm ID), without loss of efficiency.
Jody
Clark, VP sales and marketing, Selerity Technologies, comments:
" To ensure the ongoing appeal of the Polaratherm(tm) and HTLC
as a commercially viable chromatographic technique, we wanted to
ensure we could offer an all encompassing package to our European
customers. Our partnership with R.I.C. will add considerable value
to our innovative solutions, with the benefit of expert consulting
and academic input."
Prof.
Sandra, founder and managing director, R.I.C., adds: "We look
forward to working closely with Selerity to educate the market on
the benefits of HTLC. Our goal has always been to translate know
how into practical working solutions. The Polaratherm(tm) certainly
breaks new boundaries in HTLC and offers real opportunities for
the separation scientist."
